Company Health Insurance Is A Great Deal

Take advantage of company health insurance if it is available to you. It is priced much more reasonably than a similar health plan you buy on your own. There are often additional coverages included. These can include vision coverage, dental insurance, use of pre-tax dollars, spouse coverage, and dependent coverage. The numerous benefits of company insurance make it a deal you shouldn't pass up.
The company insurance rates are often much lower than if you purchased the same coverage individually. The company gets a group discount because of the number of employees enrolled. Furthermore, groups of similar companies might be covered by the same company, providing even more reasonably priced company health insurance. The economy of scale makes it only slightly more costly to provide coverage for one as it does for many people. That's why company health insurance rates are likely to be much lower than you can find on your own.
You might not have to pay for some or all of the cost of your company health insurance. Some companies provide free medical insurance to their employees as a benefit of employment. Other employers offer company health insurance to employees at reduced premiums, which is still a great deal if you don't get it for free. In the majority of the cases the company does not see what types of items you submit for a claim, maintaining your privacy. Only in the case of suspect activity or fraud might the insurance company reveal how a person is misusing the company health insurance.
Use your company health insurance policy for all your medical needs. It will probably pay for most or all of your preventive care doctor visits. Also covered are doctor visits and medications when you are sick. The plan should have a good prescription drug coverage program, which pays for most of your prescription drugs. Many plans offer even bigger discounts if you use generic drugs, so ask if this is a part of your company health insurance. If it is, tell your doctor to prescribe generic drugs if they are available.
Your spouse and children can sometimes be enrolled on your company health insurance plan, but this can become costly. The company might be paying none, some, or all of your personal insurance, but they certainly won't extend that benefit to your family. Spouse and dependent coverage are paid for out of your own pocket and can be a big expense, so determine exactly how much that will cost before you enroll the family. If possible, have your spouse enroll in his company health insurance to lower your overall insurance costs.
Companies recognize that they must get and keep good employees. One way to do this is to offer excellent benefits. There are few benefits better than fully-paid company health insurance.
